Several airlines blocking swine flu travellers
Several airlines will refuse passengers who show symptoms of swine flu boarding.
British Airways says the ground staff will keep a lookout for passengers who show symptoms of H1N1, the so-called swine flu, and to call doctors who can prevent them from boarding. The new directive to the staff has been in a few weeks and so far, a handful of passengers have been refused, the airline confirms to the Sunday Times.
Virgin Atlantic as well Finnair have a similar approach.
-We do not take on board a person who has porcine influenza, or if there is a strong suspicion that the person is not fit to fly, “says Finnair’s Communications Manager, Manti Väätäinen-Pereira to Huvudstadsbladet.
Doctors will decide whether persons with suspected flu can access Finnair flights.
