Air France-KLM gives notice to 4500

Despite no signs of recovery, Air France-KLM believe they can reach profitability early next year. On April 1 next year, the financial year 2010/2011 starts for Air France-KLM. Aeroflot gives notice to 2000 employees

The Russian airline Aeroflot is planning to cut staff by 2,000 employees, which represents 13 percent of its workforce, within the next six months. This was communicated by¬† a spokeswoman for the company on Thursday. The airline’s profits have plummeted because of rising fuel prices.

SAS in collaboration with American Express Sweden

SAS, Scandinavian Airlines, is launching a partnership with American Express Sweden. Two new charge cards are launched. Two new SAS American Express cards are now being launched, one for business and for private individuals. The corporate card will provide visibility and control over travel and entertainment expenses as well as providing extra bonus points from SAS. SAS is also being integrated into the American Express Global Loyalty Program called Membership Rewards. Current American Express card members will now be able to redeen Membership Reward points into flights from Scandinavian Airlines.

Qatar Airways is expanding in Europe

The airline is increasing its flights to Europe by 40 percent. Qatar Airways increases frequency of flights to Madrid, Paris, Athens and Stockholm. From Qatar to Paris the flights increase with three a week, to Madrid with four trips a week and to Stockholm with an extra flight each week. -“Europe is one of our major regions and represents around 20 percent of our global coverage”, says CEO Akbar Al Baker.
