Air France-KLM gives notice to 4500
Despite no signs of recovery, Air France-KLM believe they can reach profitability early next year.
On April 1 next year, the financial year 2010/2011 starts for Air France-KLM. As early as the beginning of that fiscal year Air France-KLM CEO Pierre Henri Gourgeon aims on achieving profitability, even though there are no clear signs of recovery, reports the French Les Echos according to Bloomberg.
By the end of 2011/2012, the number of employees will have decreased by 4500 people. The CEO would however not say whether the cuts will stay there or not.
During the current year first quarter, the airline group made a net loss of 431 million euros. Pierre Henri Gourgeon think it will take until 2012 before traffic volumes once again reach last year’s levels.
