Continental Airlines & United Airlines Are Discussing A Merger
As a sign of the current times when many airlines are having a hard time showing proftis, Continental Airlines and United Airlines are in a meeting about a possible merger between them. If the airlines merge, they will pass Delta Air Lines to form the world’s largest airline. Negotiations for a merger began earlier this month, but airlines were already in similar talks two years ago, but those didn’t amount to anything.
Now, however, they have reached the point where they have decided that United Airlines will be the surviving brand and the airline’s base will be Chicago, Airwise reports.
It was just over a week ago that plans for the merger between United Airlines and U.S. Airways were put down.
